Should I power wash my wood surfaces?

Sun, rain, and moisture can cause harm to wood surfaces. Wood will swell and warp when exposed to too much moisture. When the wood dries it shrinks, warps, cracks, and is discolored. Power washing your wood surfaces will remove the discoloration and decay. This will improve the look of your wood. If you are considering staining or sealing your wood power washing will prepare it for the application of the stain or sealant.

How often should I power wash my surfaces?

A number of factors determine that. The amount of foot traffic, location, and exposure to weather elements all impact how often you need to clean your surface. Under normal foliage and weather conditions, you should pressure-clean and seal your wood deck once every two years. However, it can be powerwashed sooner if mold and mildew are a persistent problem, and you want to avoid premature wood rot and decay.

Do you use bleach?

Yes, the detergent we use contains bleach. This is to ensure the best possible result. The combination of bleach and detergent is the only way to effectively remove mildew.
